BT Engage IT provides 'Pay as You Go' information security from Symantec to UK businesses

Deal offers BT Engage IT customers ultimate flexibility

BT Engage IT has today unveiled a deal to provide UK businesses with the flexibility of buying desktop security from Symantec on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. The arrangement offers unparalleled levels of flexibility and enables businesses to pay for the services on a monthly or quarterly basis in arrears, just like they already do with their phone bill.

The offering is predominately aimed at small and medium sized organisations, where 20,000 BT Engage IT customers will have the opportunity to benefit from industry-leading security solutions available on a flexible basis. The deal is one of the first to take advantage of Symantec’s recently launched ExSP licensing programme which provides Symantec partners with new options to offer ‘pay-as-you-go’ managed services to their customers.

“The arrangement will be appealing to our customers for a variety of reasons” explained Martin Balaam, BT Engage Managing Director. “Firstly, it negates the need for customers to pay an upfront, lump sum for an annual contract. However, equally as important is the fact that customers can scale the number of licenses they need up or down on a monthly basis. This offers customers word-class desktop security on a flexible basis.”

BT Engage IT will offer its customers a full suite of services from Symantec which encompasses the Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition and will shortly include managed backup and other cloud-based solutions. The offering will be Symantec branded with support and billing provided by BT Engage IT.
