BT Engage IT and Symantec, two of the world’s leading brands in IT security, have come together to offer their customers a unique new “pay as you go” managed security service.
The service is offered by means of a subscription based model, which eliminates the need to make difficult capital expenditure decisions, something that most boardrooms will welcome in these challenging economic times. By using a subscription model, customers can size their estates to an optimum level and flex above that level and back down to their optimum level quarter by quarter.
No capital expenditure or upfront payments
In recognition of the pressure to control operating costs across the enterprise, there are no capital or upfront payments to this model and billing is quarterly in arrears.
The service is priced on a per device/user basis. The customer decides on the optimum size of the estate and reports quarterly on how many licences are in use for the previous quarter. The customer is billed according to the customer quarterly generated usage report. Customers may use all or some of the components that make up the subscription proposition.

This new BT Engage IT /Symantec Security service uses key elements of the Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition™. This leading suite of services creates a protected endpoint, messaging, and web environment that is secure against most of today's complex malware, data loss and spam threats.

We provide advanced threat prevention that protects your endpoints - laptops, desktops and servers - from targeted attacks and attacks not seen before. Included are turnkey, proactive technologies that automatically analyse application behaviours and network communications to detect and block suspicious activities, including administrative control features that allow organizations to deny specific device and application activities deemed as high risk.
Antivirus, Anti Spam and Messaging Protection
The service delivers inbound and outbound messaging security, with effective and accurate real-time anti spam and antivirus protection. The Protection Suite messaging security components can be deployed at the messaging server level on Microsoft® Exchange and Lotus Domino®.
